DSP Developer with a minimum of five years experience. Must be proficient with fixed point DSP development and have experience in the implementation and optimization of algorithms both in C and assembly code. Prefer individuals with a background in software modem implementation, and experience with GSM/GPRS/EGPRS/WCDMA development is highly desired. Simulation experience using C++ and Matlab desired. ? Candidate should be a self-starter who has successful technical leadership experience. In addition, the candidate should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and he/she should feel comfortable working in a multi-cultural team. ? Competence: Requires a MSEE or MSCS and a minimum of five years of related experience. ? Occasional travel to Sweden required. Other travel may be required. Proficiency in using JTAG debuggers/emulators/simulators, and logic analyzers required. Also prefer candidates that have proficiency in using GSM test equipment. JOB ID# 2002 Job Description: Responsible for design, development & evaluation of multi-mode 3GPP hardware architectures and implementation approaches for mobile phones and PC cards. Modes of operation could include GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, and/or LTE. Development efforts could include synthesizer, receiver, and/or transmitter circuitry and subsystems and its impact on baseband hardware. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum MSEE required, with at least 9 years experience in analog and RF product design and development techniques that can be applied to low power, portable hand-held terminals. RF ASIC design experience desirable. Strong technical design skills required, along with good organizational and communications abilities. Good familiarity with RF test equipment and test methods required. JOB ID#2003 Job Description: Software System Engineer This position involves analyzing requirements to generate software architecture and design changes within the GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/UMTS Cellular Network Access software stack which includes physical layer drivers and multi-layer communication protocols. They will look into new features and determine changes needed in the software codebase. Work with Software developers to guide coding, debugging and testing of software implementation. Software functionality includes custom ASIC control code such as DSP communication, RF timing, control of Radio HW blocks and Radio RF ASICs, and end product customization and support. It requires interfacing and understanding higher layer processing related to GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/UMTS protocol such as scanning, synchronization, channel activation and monitoring, Medium Access Control, Mobility Management (MM) and Radio Control (RLC). Minimum education and experience required to perform the essential functions of the job: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering required. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in using C/ C++ language in embedded software development. Knowledge of cellular phone protocol or similar needed. The candidate must be able to work well in a team environment. Good communication and documentation skills are needed. Understanding of Ericsson EMP mission and vision will be necessary to become a successful member of the EMP team. Some travel will be required. Specific equipment and/or materials used in the performance of the essential functions of the job: Ericsson software development environment and configuration management tools (Clearcase), Emulators/JTAG , Cellular Protocol simulators (Rohde & Schwarz CMU, Agilent, Anite, HP), logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and various other analysis/ debug tools. JOB ID# 2004 Job Description: Follow and drive Open Software Framework specifications as they pass through different phases of their specification lifecycles. For example: Java ME and Java SE Java specifications through the Java Community Process (JCP). Web applications Scripting APIs and architecture through the Open Ajax Alliance and W3C activities Home networking and Set top box application environment (Java ME/SE and IMS ) through the DLNA forum Take part or lead technology studies as well as participate in the standardization of new specification groups Write technical proposals in line with company strategy either individually or in collaboration with other team members Coordinate subsequent submissions (in the form of specifications or open source code contributions) to the standardization bodies. Interface with various organizations within Ericsson as well as with other companies involved in the standardization. Participate in development of domain specific strategies for work in standards bodies and OS developed contributions and extensions for the EMP application platform based on Java ME and SE. Good understanding of Java programming language (JME/CLDC is preferable) and object oriented concepts.
